Penni Russon is the author of several novels including the Undine trilogy, Little Bird, The Indigo Girls, Josie and the Michael Street Kids, Only Ever Always and The Endsister. She has also contributed stories to Kill Your Darlings, The Big Issue Fiction Edition, Eat the Sky, Drink the Ocean, Island Magazine, the Australian Review of Fiction and Something Special, Something Rare: Outstanding Short Stories by Australian Women.

Penni has worked as a freelance editor, mostly working on books for teenagers and children. She teaches creative writing Monash University.

In 2020 she completed her PhD in youth mental health and graphic medicine, exploring the application of comics in moderated online social therapy.

She is an author, academic and researcher with extensive experience mentoring and teaching emerging writers.
